To the rhythm of your beat
Have I lost myself in you?
Or you've merged unto me?
I implore a response
Whether true or falsified
Least you can do is to
Dispel doubt and satisfy
This blind step on steps
Will not be true to soul
Neither will I remain full
Nor will you remain whole
So let down your arms
And dangle your mask
Let the world see you
And me...is it too big an ask?

A nice ekphrastic! And also, going deeper, an interesting reflection on relationship.
ReplyDeleteOne cannot be ambiguous in relationship. Thank you Rosemary
DeleteLovely poem . Enjoyed this
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Rall
Deletedrop the mask and drop the guards .... not too much really! enjoyed
ReplyDeleteYes, it is required to know each other fully if they are together. Thank you.
DeleteReminds me of the heady days of my youth. Sure it could be fun figuring out the steps of this dance, but I am happy to be well paired with a steady partner whose steps never keep me guessing.
ReplyDeleteI have never been a dancer. In fact I can't dance.
DeleteLovely poem
ReplyDeleteThank you Mathur Sahab
DeleteBeautiful! It made me think about vulnerability in my own relationships. The masks I choose to wear. Most people see me and think I'm just a carpet cleaner, but there is so much more to me. I need to be better at letting the world see me. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThank you
DeleteYou captured the artwork so well!
ReplyDeleteI love dancing, whether in kitchen while cooking, at work, or at a party. It's good form of stress release for me. I am as I am, no hidden agenda, what you see is what you get. You should try dancing geeta, sure there are a few songs you click your fingers to and tap your feet, maybe.
