Those Golden Days

Hi! Poets and friends!!!

This week Magaly of Poets And Storytellers United wants us to write a poem  inspired by the idea of letting go of something that used to be wonderful, however, which no longer fits in our lives.

Of late, I have been wondering whether we would really enjoy if we were to time travel back to those days of no internet, lack of information and sparse communication though we happen to make a lot of comparisons between the past and the present.

Every age has its own charm and utility, positives and negatives, advantages and disadvantages, though substituting one with the other, I believe, may not be such a grand idea!!

Those golden days of revelry
Gossips and giggles of yore
The world of make beliefs
The charming fables and lore

Ambling down the road
Licking an orange bar
Waiting at the bus stop
Eying the boy next door

Devouring tangy panipuris
Tiring the chaatwala
Gulping down rasagullas
In a bid to win a bet gala

The secret crush...all hush hush
The latest romantic song
The aahs and oohs and ohs
Over Bollywood icons

Reading adult novels
Hiding in the attic
Mooning over love chats
Found in sis' closet

Harmless mischiefs those were
To reminisce with a sigh
But perhaps wouldn't love
A repeat ...no...never...no more now

Memories remain I guess
Of every season gone by
Were they to be relived
Only on wistful nights
