October

In the whoopsie land
October is special
The autumn fairies
Dance a hip hop
And the winter elves
Wake up from deep slumber
Waiting......watching........wondering
When the sky will turn grey
Clouds will stoop down
The vale and kiss
Off it's hues
And the sun will shrug off
It's shine and hide into its shrine
Beyond the horizon
Where the ocean will
Sing icy tales of vacant shores

It will hurt first
Then it will be just another day
The ochre will take over the crimson
And the yellow will birth a branch
Of scraggy wails
And the birds will dig their heads deep
Into the hollows of the earth

When you and me will fold in
Our words in a blanket of
Pitch dark silence and patiently
Wait for
Another moon
A few stars
A silky breeze
And dreams
That will make us smile
All over again

  1. How lovely and peaceful it is to think of folding into a blanket of silence.

  3. It will hurt first
Then it will be just another day - just love that- the grief of transition and then the acceptance that spring will come.

  4. So sweetly whimsical! And I love that even as enchanting as the imagery is, there is an admission that pain is involved.

  7. "October is special The autumn fairies . . .", could those be the Witches of our Halloween Day come last day in the month of October? Probably you don't honor a holiday like Halloween, it was originally to honor the Saints who had died close to that date. Anyway, I like those fairies of yours, My ancestors in the Isle of Man, U.K. honored them.
Thank you for the BDay wishes, it is sort of big to me for this year.

    1. This is the period when we remember our ancestors and pray for their afterlife. Not very similar or dissimilar either.

I know about Halloween. I believe in fairies as well.

  8. What's not to like about fairies and elves in a 'whoopsie' land?! (Though I might need to replace whoopsie with wonder! LOL There could be a mis-interpretation, otherwise, Blame English slang, perhaps? )

    1. I agree with you. I have a tendency to coin or use a word with a different connotations. People say I play with words. I used Whoopsie here like a mixture of ejaculation and wispy kind of ....a somewhat happy blunder in believing in something which does not exist or too fragile or ephemeral ....a figment of imagination.

      I appreciate your concern.

  13. the birthing of a new season (and not without pain) that was intriguing as (human) life is brought forth with pain... interesting to ponder!
