The Elements

Aging
I forget names
With me the earth
Perhaps untimely

Lurking
For a fistful of sky
Still blue
The leaves
Fondle the

Brusque breeze

Scorched
Wounds learn
To heal inflamed

Mourning
in silence
Frozen
As the glaciers
Ought to be

I embrace
What they say
Nothingness

  4. Great close.. the nothingness, the quiet...that should be the communication with the elements.

  5. I like this, got my attention with the name forgetting as I have been that way for a while. It runs in the family but the COVID made it worse. I like your lament, then a 'make it feel good' following. Must try that. I "Labeled" mine "Gothic Fiction" but it is missing an element. It is one of my surprise, "Is that Jim" writings.

  7. Even when nothingness is embraced, there is much healing and goodness in the verse.
