a magpie's nest
winter memories
***
how softly
leaves kiss the dust
still spring
***
chasing shades
summer noons....of
thirsty birdbaths
***
leaves..........some green
now red.......now brown
how little I know myself

I especially love the last one... the sense of diversity and passing time...
ReplyDeleteThank you Rajani
DeleteAbsolutely beautiful! As well as conveying specific details which add up to a sense of your April, both physically and emotionally.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Rosemary. You are right everyone have their own April.
DeleteThese paint a lovely picture and work so well together.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Alan.
DeleteAn amazing collection! I still have chills and I read your poetry slowly, better for digesting thoroughly.
ReplyDeleteThank you Helen. Get well soon to enjoy more poetry.
ReplyDeleteThose birdbaths need attention in preparation for a clean spring and a hot summer's cooling. I like.
ReplyDelete..
Thank you, Jim. We keep the birdbaths clean.
ReplyDeleteSweetly written. By contrast - the magpies are on the back verandah trying to get, to cajole, a second sitting at the morning feed. Nagpies.
ReplyDeleteI like your Nagpies. Thanks for reading.
ReplyDeleteLove them all. But the second one is perfection. I feel the softness, smell the leaves, hear spring sigh...
ReplyDeleteThese are all quite nice, but the last one especially has my heart.
